Woody's Decorating is a Guernsey-based decorator with 20 years on the island. Walls, ceilings, woodwork and feature walls prepared properly and finished in premium paints — with your home left clean and tidy at the end of every day.
Tell us which rooms you'd like painted and we'll arrange a visit.
Interior paintwork is looked at closely, every day, from a few feet away. Roller marks, wavy cut-ins and filler that grins through the topcoat are impossible to unsee once you've spotted them — which is why the preparation matters far more than the painting.
Every room starts the same way: furniture moved and covered, floors sheeted, holes and cracks filled, surfaces sanded flat, joints caulked and bare or repaired areas primed. Only then do the topcoats go on — two coats as standard, cut in by hand and laid off evenly.
Older Guernsey properties often need a little more: damp-affected patches, tired dry lining or timber that's been overpainted for decades. We'll tell you what a surface actually needs before quoting rather than covering the problem over.

From a single room refresh to a full property redecoration — homes and commercial interiors across the island.
Filled, sanded and rolled in premium emulsion for a flat, even finish with no patchy roller marks.
Skirting, architrave, doors and frames rubbed down and finished in satinwood, eggshell or a stain where the grain stays on show.
Moisture-resistant paints suited to rooms that see steam, splashes and daily wear.
Bold accent walls, panelled rooms and colour schemes matched to the rest of the space.
The high-traffic areas of a home, including spindles, handrails and awkward-access landings.
Boarding, taping and patch repairs so the surface is right before a brush touches it.
Island-based and working across every parish — you deal directly with the person doing the work.

Filling, sanding, caulking and priming — the invisible work that decides how the finish looks in year three.

Woodwork is where a decorating job is judged. Doors, frames, architrave, skirting, window boards, staircases, spindles and handrails all sit at eye level or hand height, so brush marks, nibs and runs show up far more than they ever do on a wall.
Every piece of timber is washed down, filled, rubbed back and — where it's bare, resinous or previously varnished — primed with the right base before topcoats go on. Painted trim is finished in satinwood or eggshell depending on the look you want; a modern flat eggshell reads softer, while satinwood stands up better to knocks in a busy hallway.
Where you'd rather keep the grain visible, we stain and seal instead: doors, beams, stairs and built-in timber sanded back, stained to the tone you've chosen and sealed with a hardwearing clear finish. The same applies outside — exterior timber, gates, fascias and garden joinery are covered on our exterior decorating page.

Call or send an enquiry with the rooms you'd like painted and roughly when you'd like the work done.
Woody visits, measures up, talks through colours and finishes, then sends a clear written quote.
Furniture covered, surfaces filled, sanded and primed, then two coats applied to walls, ceilings and woodwork.
We walk the rooms with you, sort any touch-ups and leave everything clean and back in place.
We're based on the island and work across every parish — St Peter Port, St Sampson's, Vale, Castel, St Andrew's, St Martin's, St Saviour's, Forest and Torteval. Granite cottages, modern family homes, town apartments and commercial interiors all get the same standard of preparation and finish.
