Woody's Decorating is a Guernsey-based decorator with 20 years on the island. We repaint render, masonry, woodwork and roofline details with the preparation and exterior coatings that island properties need to stand up to coastal weather.
Tell us a little about your property and we'll arrange a visit.
Properties here take a battering. Driving rain, strong wind, long damp spells and salt-laden coastal air all work away at exterior surfaces, and paintwork that would sit happily for years inland can start to lift, chalk or flake far sooner on an exposed Guernsey elevation.
That's why we spend as much time preparing as painting. Surfaces are washed down to remove dirt, salt residue and organic growth, loose material is scraped back, cracks and defects are made good where required, and bare or repaired areas are primed before any topcoat goes on.
Coatings are chosen for exterior use and for the surface they're going onto, and applied in suitable weather rather than rushed. Good preparation, sound repairs, the right products and careful application together give a finish that lasts far longer than a quick recoat.
